Fans of Star Wars and the beloved Rebels character, Hera Syndulla, can rejoice! Mary Elizabeth Winstead has finally revealed her role in the upcoming Ahsoka series and it’s confirmed that she will be playing the live-action version of Hera. The announcement was made during Star Wars Celebration 2023 and Winstead also took to the stage of the Lucasfilm Studios Showcase to show off her full costume as a Twi’lek.
It was first revealed back in May 2020 that Winstead had joined the cast, but it wasn’t until now that the role she was playing was revealed. It makes perfect sense that Winstead would be playing Hera, considering fellow Rebels character Ezra Bridger has already been confirmed to be in the show, played by Eman Esfandi.
Ahsoka is set to be released in August 2023 and will follow the latest steps in Ahsoka’s journey. The character has appeared in The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Mandalorian, and most recently in The Book of Boba Fett, where she was seen hanging out with Luke Skywalker.
The upcoming Disney Plus series began production in May 2020 and fans can expect an even deeper look at the show during the panel taking place tomorrow, April 8.
It’s exciting to see Mary Elizabeth Winstead take on the role of Hera Syndulla in the upcoming Ahsoka series. With the show set to be released in August 2023, fans have a lot to look forward to and the panel taking place tomorrow will give us a better insight into what’s to come.
