Keeping track of video game release dates can be a daunting task, especially when delays are so common. In 2023, high-profile games like Skull and Bones, The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, Forza Motorsport, and Warhammer 40K: Darktide have all had their launch dates postponed. Digital Trends is here to help keep track of all the 2023 game delays, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on any of your most anticipated titles.

The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR was originally intended to launch alongside the PlayStation VR2 headset on February 22, but it has since been delayed to March 16. Supermassive Games said this delay will ensure that players “receive the most polished, terrifying experience possible” at launch. Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key was also pushed back one month to March 24, so developer Koei Tecmo can ensure that the game is a fitting finale for the series.

The Day Before has had a particularly suspicious delay, as it was pushed back from March 1 to November 10. Developer Fntastic and publisher Mytona claim that someone else has trademarked the game’s title before they could, so they need the extra time to sort out the trademark dispute.

Forza Motorsport had a spring 2023 release window when it reappeared at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, but it was later changed to just 2023. Microsoft hasn’t yet revealed a release date, but they promise it will be worth the wait.

Ubisoft’s long-awaited pirate game Skull and Bones was supposed to launch on March 9, but after the underperformance of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Ubisoft decided to delay it into the wide release window of “early 2023 to 2024” in order to ensure its quality.

Finally, the Xbox Series X/S version of Warhammer 40K: Darktide was originally intended to launch alongside the PC version in September 2022, but it has since been indefinitely postponed. Fatshark is using this time to rework the crafting and progression systems, fix bugs, and improve the game’s performance on PC.

With so many games being delayed in 2023, it’s important to stay up-to-date on the latest release date changes. Digital Trends is here to provide you with all the information you need to make sure you don’t miss out on any of your most anticipated titles.
