It looks like fans of video games can look forward to an exciting Gamescom this year as Geoff Keighley has announced that Gamescom Opening Night Live will be returning this August. This pre-show presentation is a regular event for the German Gamescom expo and last year’s show ran for just over two hours, featuring more than 35 games.
Organisers Koelnmesse and The German Games Industry Association have revealed that there are ten percent more companies registered for 2023’s event than there were at this time last year. Although the companies attending have yet to be announced, Oliver Frese, CEO of Koelnmesse, has promised that a major company will make a return to 2023’s show.
Last year’s Gamescom saw publishers such as Microsoft, 2K, Warner Games, Sega, and Ubisoft attending, while Nintendo and Sony did not attend the event.
It’s not yet known which companies will be attending this year’s Gamescom, but with the promise of a major company returning to the event, fans of video games are sure to be in for a treat. Gamescom 2023 will take place from August 22 to August 27, so make sure to mark the dates in your calendar and stay tuned for more information.
