The recently released patch for Hogwarts Legacy on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S is a major update, focusing on improving gameplay, performance, and overall stability. The patch notes, which were shared by the developer on its official blog, contain a long list of technical fixes, as well as bug fixes for online connection problems, DLC related issues, missions, and more.
The patch has addressed two main problems highlighted by the developer: a bug that would cause issues during the pause and gear menu, as well as a problem where the flying mount would disappear from a player’s inventory during a mission. Other fixes include audio, UI, cinematics, raytracing, performance, and more.
The patch also fixes several issues with missions, such as a blocker issue when unlocking the bandit camp cage before starting the mission, as well as a problem where butterflies would not appear at the specified area to progress the mission. It also fixes a duplication collision next to one of the store entrances and an issue with waypoints being in the air instead of the ground within Hogsmeade.
The patch also includes fixes to VFX, such as the enemy shields not displaying correctly during Cross Wands missions, and Dark Wizard Extortionist AOE lightning VFX attack remaining on screen. It also addresses performance and stability issues, such as streaming out of the Great Hall while navigating Hogwarts, as well as several memory leaks.
The PS4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy have been delayed and will now launch on May 5, instead of the previous April 4 date. The game has been embroiled in controversy due to transphobic remarks from Harry Potter author JK Rowling, although she is not personally involved with its development.
