The release of Overwatch 2’s Season 4 character, Lifeweaver, is imminent, but there is already growing concern that the healer needs to be reworked right out of the gate. Twitch streamers and Overwatch 2 content creators have been able to get their hands on the character early, and the early impressions are not great.
Flats, a Twitch streamer and Overwatch 2 content creator, noted that the character’s healing abilities “f****g sucks” and that it takes too long to heal with the 65 healing burst. Seagull, another Twitch streamer, agreed that Lifeweaver may be “the most clunky character” in the game, as they have to constantly weapon swap in order to heal and do damage.
Hero balancing has been a major issue for Blizzard, as they typically have great ideas for new characters but struggle to make them fit in the meta. This is why new characters take so long to add, and it looks like Lifeweaver may be another example of this problem.
Players won’t have to wait long to find out if Lifeweaver is as bad as early impressions suggest, as the character will be released on April 11 when Season 4 goes live. Until then, all we can do is hope that Blizzard has done enough to make Lifeweaver a viable healer.
