Showrunner Leslye Headland discussed the show’s inspirations, which included Frozen and Kill Bill, as well as Kurosawa films and George Lucas’s martial arts films. The Acolyte is set during the final days of the High Republic Era, over a century before the events of The Phantom Menace.
