Are you ready for the reimagined version of Resident Evil 4’s Mercenary Mode? If you’re in Korea, you don’t have to wait any longer as players have already gained access to the mode a day early! Unfortunately, some are reporting that the mode is missing key content.
Originally, the mode was unlocked upon completion of the game’s campaign, but in the remake, Capcom has decided to make it available as free DLC. However, those who have already accessed the mode have noticed that Ada Wong and Albert Wesker, two characters that were previously in the mode, are missing. This has caused speculation that Capcom might offer the characters as paid downloadable content in the future.
Adding to the speculation, microtransactions for the mode have been spotted in the form of “upgrade tickets” that would grant players faster progress with their Mercenary Mode runs. A screenshot from the New Zealand PlayStation store shows players will be able to pay for faster progress.
While it’s unclear how the pay-to-win model will be received by players, the omission of two key characters is likely to be a disappointment to some.
